AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS JOIN FORCES ON WNMU STAGE
SILVER CITY, N.M. - High school students from Lordsburg High, Silver High,
and Aldo Leopold High School will come together through drama and dance in the
2008 High School Showcase “Hicks and Mind Games” on Friday, May 9th at 7:00pm.
Presented by Silverburg Productions, this is the second annual attempt to bring
students together from area schools to benefit high school drama programs. Ann
Marie Elder, Theater Professor and Production Manager of the Fine Arts Center
Theatre on the Western New Mexico University Campus, facilitates the showcase.
“The goal is to work with students through mentoring programs, workshops, and
to encourage to them participate in theatre,” said Elder.
The WNMU Expressive Arts Department invites community members to attend the
performance to be hosted by the WNMU Fine Arts Center Theatre. The event is
free with generous donations accepted.
