Where is the Student Health Center located?
The WNMU Student health Center is located in the Juan Chacon building Room 250.

What are the Student Health Center hours?
The Student health Center is open Monday through Friday from 2PM to 6PM.

Do I have to pay to be seen at the Health Center?
Any student carrying 7 or more credit hours is entitled to unlimited free visits as covered by your student fees. Part time students may be seen for a fee of $15 per visit.

What do I do if I get sick and the Health Center is closed?
If you feel you need immediate medical attention please go to the Gila Regional Medical Center Emergency Room.

Do I need an appointment to be seen at the Health Center?
No. Walk-ins are welcome. However, it is recommended to make an appointment. Walk-in’s are seen on a first come first serve basis and students with appointments take priority.

Can I get a note for class if I am sick?
Class excuses are provided for students who are examined and deemed unable to attend class for health reasons.

Where can I get my allergy shots while I am at school?
Any student who provides documentation of the need for allergy shots, from their physician, is able to get the shots here at the Student Health Center. The student is responsible for providing the Health Center with the medication and will be charged a nominal fee for each visit.

Can anyone find out about my health information?
Patient’s health information is protected by federal regulations. Absolutely no one can gain knowledge of your health information unless you give permission to do so.

Does the Health Center take insurance?
The WNMU Student Health Center does not process medical insurance. Insured students will assume the responsibility of submitting a claim to their insurance company when indicated.

Does the Student Health Center require health insurance?
Health insurance is recommended but not required. The University does not endorse a specific medical insurance carrier. The Health Center can provide information on a limited number of carriers and it is up to the student to purchase his/her own coverage.
