Academic & Research Conference

Who will present?

Any student attending WNMU is invited to participate. We also welcome high school students to participate.

We will design the conference around the interest of students. The following categories are offered as a starting point for students. We welcome additional suggestions!

  • Research – any research performed by a student or group of students can be presented at the conference. Such research might include literature reviews or original research projects.
  • Creative Works – Artistic students are invited to share example pieces with everyone. These can be works created on or off campus.
  • Public Service Projects – Students who have been involved in project(s) that serve their community are invited to share those.
  • Technology – Share your impressive knowledge of technology with us. Perhaps you have written a computer program, have created some computer art, or have designed your own webpage – we want you to share that with everyone.
  • Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Exhibits – Students are invited to show off their teaching portfolios or projects they have done related to teaching and learning.
  • Innovative Ideas – If you have creative or innovative ideas to share with the community, this is an opportunity to do so.
  • Other – Again, we invite you to tell us about any work you have done at WNMU of which you are proud. Please share your interests and knowledge with everyone.

Who is invited?

The entire WNMU and Silver City community, representatives from regional schools, regional employers, and members of state government will attend.

All participants at the WNMU Academic & Research Conference will be entered in a raffle to win great prizes. All attendees will also be entered in a separate raffle.
