      • Motion made by Stevenson to amend agenda Section B. Change recognition to re-recognition. Change appropriation of $150.00 to $100.00, Seconded by Molano

  • ASWNMU Executive Council Reports
    • President Abraham Martinez
      • Attended Homecoming Meeting, Maria will be working with each senator, Thanks senators for shopping for Golf Day, Attended a cabinet meeting, Also working with Alumni and happy to see a lot coming back.
    • Vice President Louis Ortega
      • Polo’s that were ordered will be in next week, Doing office hours and working with Maria on Homecoming plans, Would like to get contact information from clubs after meeting
    • Secretary Luis Martinez
      • Big Brothers Big Sisters was a success and saw a lot of senators attending event, Hands out a list of events for Homecoming week (Each explained in detail).
    • Treasurer Ben Domke
      • Hands out of the budget (Explained in detail). The only thing that changed was for the appropriation of Big brothers Big Sisters and Golf Day. Found $2000.00 more in student lobbing account.
    • Attorney General Arturo Monje
      • Still working on the constitution for the Big Six, went before General Assembly to challenge every one to where Togas, Some actions were misinterpreted this week but apologizes for any misunderstanding.
    • Governmental Affairs Director Chris Schofield
      • Talking to Universities for Big Six, So far has not got ahold of UNM or Highlands . Wrote letters to senators and legislatures to keep them updated, Ordered business cards, Shopped foe Golf Day total was $383.00 .

    • Senate Bill 23 re-recognition of Alpha Phi Sigma. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Molano, Helgert).
      • Discussion-Did Identify Kid (explains program)
      • Motioned by Molano, seconded by Helgert

    • Senate Bill 24 re-recognition of WNMU Collegiate Music Educators National Conference. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Helgert, Molano).
      • Discussion-Past year did the Annual Festival, Had a concert last semester, For the future plans to join Holiday Celebration to help kids learn music, Attended NMA Musicians.

    • Senate Bill 25 re-recognition of St Francis Newman Club. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Bass, Smith).
      • Discussion- Going to discuss Homecoming next meeting, having a kids carnival on Halloween, participating in Festival of Trees, any one welcome to join.

    • Senate Bill 26 re-recognition of WNMU Drum Line. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Edwards, Scott).
      • Discussion- Trying to get going this year by playing at games, attended WNMU Day of Percussion, next month will have a day to play for 12 hours long, will also be in parade.

    • Senate Bill 27 re-recognition of Social Work Club. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Bass, Smith).
      • Discussion-Painted windows and worked booth at Big Brothers Big Sisters, Helped decorate floats last year. This year- organizing a carnival and will paint windows, and participate in Great Race.

    • Senate Bill 28 re-recognition of The Jump Rope Club. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Spradlin, Cordova).
      • Discussion-Plan to attend Homecoming parade and help with Golf Day.

    • Senate Bill 29 re-recognition of National Student Nurses Association. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Smith, Bass).
      • Discussion- Recently have 32 first year and 32 second year students in program, goal is to get more involved wuth the WNMU clinic.

    • Senate Bill 30 re-recognition of the Science Club. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Molina, Pool).
      • Molina motioned to table bill, seconded by Pool
      • Motion passes 12-0-0
    • Senate Bill 31 recognition of the Giant Puppet and Cycling Club. Appropriation of $150.00 of start up money (Spradlin, Cordova).
      • Discussion- Would like to do many parades and works with after school children to teach bike safety, organize bike trips.

    • Senate Bill 32 re-recognition of the Psychology Club. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Scott, Edwards).
      • Discussion- Plan on sponsoring a team for Great Race, Raise money for student research and will contribute to the community any way possible.

    • Senate Bill 33 re-recognition of the Criminal Justice Club. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Cordova, Bass).
      • Discussion- Past did the Identify Kid and helped with the Angels Daycare, plan to be involved with the Great Race.

    • Senate Bill 34 re-recognition of the N.U.R.D.S. (Never Underestimate Real Dorks Superiority) Club. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money (Smith, Bass).
      • Discussion-Plan to help out with Homecoming and Great Race, also would like to make a float for Homecoming.

    • Senate Bill 35 Matching funds for the Sociology Club. Appropriation of funds for $681.55.(Molano & Estrada)
      • Discussion- Had a spaghetti dinner to raise money for a meeting in Nevada .

    • Senate Bill 36 Appropriation of funds for Polo Shirts not to exceed $550.00. (Cordova & Bass)

  • Announcements
      • Maria- Homecoming is set for October 20, 2007 , Need to get cell numbers from every senator and would like to meet with senate briefly after meeting.
      • Senator Stevenson- would like to have a short caucus after meeting
      • President Abraham- Would like to thank clubs for all their work and attending meeting. Will also be setting up a committee so all clubs can be reviewed and decide which will be on probation.
      • Dr. Magdaleno Marzanarez- Very shocked to have found out that senate did not approve Mecha after all the involvement they have had at WNMU.
      • Dr. Farran-Need to set an Appeals Committee for clubs and have a Due Process.
      • President Martinez- Disappointed with Mecha’s involvement.
      • Senator Helgert- Would like know if senate would like to perform in talent show
