ASWNMU Senate Meeting

Minutes

September 28th, 2010

 

 

    I.            Call to Order at 8:31 p.m.

 II.            Opening Ceremonies

III.            Roll Call

a.    Bowman was excused from meeting. Did attend meeting as tardy

IV.            Approval of Proposed amended Agenda for: September 28th, 2010

a.    Anderson seconded by Esparza motion passes unanimously

 

  V.            Approval of Minutes for: September 14th, 2010.

a.    Motion to approve Meeting Minutes for September 14th, 2010 by Sandusky, seconded by Hernandez. Motion passes unanimously.

VI.            ASWNMU Executive Council Report

a.    Marcia Shields, President: Thanked everyone for being there. Been attending the Constitution and Bylaws committee meetings. Shes has been working on the issues with regard to the Student health services and the visit changes for this year. Shes also going to attend a meeting, against the tution increase. Shes has been meeting with Mary Billings about the advising and academic appeals. She annouced that Ferber has stepped down from her position as associate justice since she feels that its too hard for her to make decitions on others futures

 

b.    Lacey Swihart, Vice President.Thanked everyone for being there. She has been out of office last week, but most of her hours are in the evenings. She also rearranged the time sheets.

 

c.    Summer Berry, Secretary: Announced that she has talked to Phillip Cabe at the museum about having a display for Homecoming week, however the museum informed her that they can not fufill this request. She announced that the executive council will have a meeting tomorrow at 9:00AM. She also attended a grad councle meeting with senator Esparza.

 

d.    Jason Lucas, Treasurer: Announced that he and a few other senators worked at the football game selling parking tickets. They made $325 for senate. He will email all the start up fund information ASAP his flash drive is currently out of service. He has been attneding differnet meetings around campus. He is waiting on Ms. Lankford for a housing comitee meeting time.

 

 

e.    Brian Thometz, Attorney General: Announced he had been working on Senate bills that had been submitted last week. Announced that he had been organizing the files and contacting clubs.

 

f.     Cindy Keeler, Governmental Affairs Director: Announced she has completed her office hours for the prior week and will continue to do so this week. She discussed that she met with Dr. Counts

IX.            Announcement

a.    Mary Lewis from the sorority announced that the sorority will host a haunted house this year for Halloween.

b.    Melissa Busbee asked that we collect signitures for the petition against cutting the after school program.

c.    Abe announced some of the Homecoming information and handed out Homecoming information.

d.    Senator Veltri announced that the Native American Club will be selling Indian tacos at the Grand county fair on Friday 1st October through 3rd October 2011.

  X.            Adjournment

a.    Motion to adjourn meeting by Senator H Anderson, seconded by G Anderson.
