The School:
WNMU is a small NCAA Division II school located in the southwest corner
of New Mexico. The relatively inexpensive school (about $5,500 per year
in-state and $10,000 per year out-of-state) boasts approximately 2,500
students and is most recognized for its School's of Education and Business.
The small campus is beautiful and nestled in the foothills of the Gila
Wilderness. The on-campus dorms and cafeteria are also very nice and easily
accessible to the entire campus.
The Town:
Silver City is a small town of about 15,000 residents. It is located in
the foothills of the Gila Wilderness, which means that both the forests and
deserts are extremely accessible. This geographic location keeps the
weather very nice, as Silver City is known for its 4 gentle seasons. Severe
weather and snow storms do occur on occasion, but generally do not last for
very long. The nearest cities and airports are Albuquerque, NM, Tucson, AZ
and El Paso, TX, which are all between 3 and 4 hours away.
