VI.            ASWNMU Executive Council Reports

A.    President Abraham Martinez- Worked with Chris Schofield traveling to Santa Fe. Attended Foundation of Excellence and Strategic Planning meetings. Discipline Committee meeting 3:30 in GRC. Thanks Louis Ortega for doing interviews.

B.    Vice President Louis Ortega

a.     Attended meeting with DWI and Corre Caminos.  A new fee for transportation for students has been proposed. This would enable students eight to ten rides for $2.50 a semester.

C.    Secretary  

D.    Treasurer Ben Domke

a.     (Explained budget in detail) Fees Committee will have an open hearing February 11, 2008 at 8:30 P.M

E.    Attorney General Arturo Monje

a.     Next Tuesday Constitution and Bylaws Committee will meet at 6:30 P.M. Club recognition deadline February 27, 2008.

F.    Governmental Affairs Director Chris Schofield

a.     Been going to Santa Fe has had a lot of support from Senators and Representatives.

A.    Senate Bill for re-recognition of the Native American Club. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money. (Helgert & Cordova)

c.     Discussion- Club plans to promote awareness and educate Native Americans. Club plans to give workshops about Native American’s way or living.

B.    Senate Bill for re-recognition of the Latter-Day Saint Student Association. Appropriation of $100.00 of start up money. (Molano & Helgert)

c.     Discussion- Club plans to do community service, they provide free lunches every Wednesday. They also plan on doing requirements of ASWNMU.

c.     Discussion- Club has organized Meet the Mustangs. Gathers food for churches and is going to participate in the Make a Wish Program
