WNMU Involvement
WNMU joined QM in Fall, 2012.
What that means is that we have access to the rubric as a model for online course quality.
Instructors at institutions which join Quality Matters are never directed or told to meet standards in their courses. It is a voluntary process. An institution which has participated actively with QM for three-five years will usually have about 15 percent of their courses QM approved.
QM is a peer-review model. Faculty at institutions volunteer to be trained in using the rubric when reviewing a course. As of now, WNMU doesn't have a certified reviewer or trainer, so we are simply using the rubric as a "target" for creating and offering quality courses as defined by this national standard.
