Scholarship Application Information

Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the donor, the academic department, and the Foundation Office. The amount of the award will be determined by the earnings that the endowed scholarship has accumulated during the period prior to the award. It may be possible that earnings do not meet expectations and therefore awards will be reduced or eliminated for that period of time. Sechler/Rhoades Education Fund Scholarship
Undergraduate and graduate student teachers, financial need, school of Education directly involved in selection of recipient. Application is made through the School of Education. For further information please call (575) 538-6416.

Sechler/Rhoades P.E.O. Scholarship
NM resident, academic achievement, female student, education major, financial need, Foundation directly involved in selection of recipient. Application is made through the Foundation office. For further information please call (575) 538-6416.

Margaret M. Jones Scholarship

Stella Vaughn Scholarship

Twenty Four Club/Christine Drangmeister Scholarship

Don C. and Della H. Montoya Tutorial Fund Scholarship
Education major, one credit hour scholarship for Teacher Education candidate providing tutoring in Reading, Language, Art and/or Math to Public School students and not intended for bilingual or ESL instruction, financial need, WNMU School of Education faculty member involved in selection of recipient. Olive Marlowe Smithson Scholarship
Female Hispanic Graduate Student 30 years or older, five years teaching experience desiring to continue career in teaching, Education major, School of Education involved in selection of recipient, financial need, For tuition, fees and support services. John A. (Jack) and Arley M. Reese Scholarship
Undergraduate or Graduate or High School student preparing to enter college, financial need, community service, 3.0 GPA, selection committee will include a representative from each discipline, School of Education, Nursing, Social Science and Criminal Justice, two members of the Reese family, Financial Aid Director and the WNMU Foundation Director, renewable. Beth Bingaman Scholarship
Student must demonstrate aptitude and interest in academic subjects, an intension to go into teaching at the elementary or secondary level, financial need, Vice President for Academic Affairs is directly involved in selection of recipient. Alan R. Thompson Teaching Scholarship
A scholarship is offered to upper-division students who plan to pursue a teaching or coaching career and who have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Application is made through the
