Technology
This session will provide instruction on computing essentials. Users
will be introduced to Microsoft Windows concepts and learn Microsoft Windows
navigation and techniques. Users will be introduced to folder/file concepts and
learn to access, organize, and manage (delete, move, copy) folders and files
through Windows Explorer.
Target Group: Faculty, Staff, Student Employees
This session will introduce WNMU's e-mail service options. Participants
will learn the differences between web accesses versus applications. They will
learn the pros and cons of different methods and how to use WNMU's e-mail
service options in collaboration.
Participants
must sign-up before 12:00pm the day prior to a scheduled session.

This session will introduce WNMU's new online service. Participants
will learn all the capabilities of the service that includes targeted announcements,
calendar, group homepages, etc. Each participant will receive personal account
information to enable log in during the session.

provide participants with a foundation to effectively use the application.

This session will introduce Microsoft Word’s capabilities and provide
users with a foundation to effectively use the application. They will
learn how to launch Microsoft Word, create a document, use application
menu/toolbar functions, effectively format documents (tabs, indents, margins,
line spacing, etc.), create basic advertisements using graphics (Clip Art,
Paint, Word Art, etc.), and identify/execute printing preferences.

This session will introduce Microsoft
Excel’s capabilities and provide users with a foundation to effectively use the
application. Participants will learn how to enter and edit information in a
worksheet, manage and navigate worksheets and workbooks, perform calculations,
manipulate worksheet data, and format the worksheet contents. Participants will
also learn how to prepare and print information.

In this session participants will learn how to create and edit charts,
modify chart options, format chart objects, and create/use trend lines,
forecasts, and error bars in charts. Participants will also learn how to use
style and custom formats. Pre-requisite: Introduction to Microsoft Excel

In this session experienced users will learn how to sort, manage,
filter, and query data in Microsoft Excel. Participants will also learn how to
expertly use the lookup and database functions, as well as Excel features like
goal seek and solver. High-end-user features will be introduced such as use of
financial and logical functions, macros, templates, and working with multiple
worksheets and workbooks. Pre-requisite: Intermediate Microsoft Excel

This session will introduce Microsoft Access fundamental capabilities
and provide users with a foundation to effectively use the application.
Participants will learn to identify the basic features of Microsoft Access,
create and maintain tables, work with queries, and produce reports.

This session will provide an overview of Microsoft PowerPoint’s
fundamental capabilities. Users will learn how to prepare and build a basic
presentation through working with text boxes, pictures, tables, graphs, etc.

This session will introduce WNMU Mustang Express calendar service
options. Participants will learn how to manage their schedule through calendar
by learning how to schedule new events, reoccurring events, event deletion,
inviting others to events, sharing calendars, and calendar options.

In this session participants will learn about and use key features of
WebCT that include the Designer Interface (allows the instructor to create a
unique look and feel for the course, color schemes, page layout, and background
graphics), protected course material environment (syllabus, assignments, class
notes, lecture notes, images), educational tools to support learning,
communication, and collaboration, and administrative tools to use for course management
and student assessment.

This session will introduce users to the Banner 5 system. Users will
learn how to successfully navigate throughout the system by familiarity of
views, toolbars, and searching techniques. This session is a pre-requisite to
any Banner 5 module specific courses.

This session provides a step-by-step walk through of the
Faculty/Advisor section in the Student Information web component. Faculty and
Advisors will learn how to view course schedules and descriptions, detail
course enrollment information, view designated student academic histories and
enter mid-term and final grades. They will also be informed of current
signature approval procedures and will learn how to provide signature approval
through the web component.

In this session professionals will learn how to develop and maintain a
positive attitude, show extra attentiveness to customers, listen, and use
customer-friendly language. They will learn how to effectively solve customers'
problems and benefit from their complaints. In addition, they will learn how to
successfully serve upset customers, calm upset customers, and deal with abusive
customers while controlling personal emotions.

In this session professionals will learn how to develop their telephone
skills and identify the guidelines they should follow in order to provide
excellent customer service. This interactive training session provides
participants with opportunities to practice asking customers appropriate
questions, solve customers' problems, and effectively handle situations with
angry callers.

In this session professionals will learn how to produce professional
e-mails to encourage adequate impressions of the author. Participants will
learn how to identify and state meaningful subject lines, be aware of page
layout, find replacements for restores, correct intonation use, and adequate
clear responses.

This session will teach professionals techniques to get more done in
less time. Participants will learn how to set long-range goals with innovative
plans for prioritizing tasks, responding the right way to interruptions,
dealing with others to control use of time, learn techniques to eliminate
procrastination, hold meaningful meetings that create decisions, actions, and
responses, establish or meet deadlines, and tips to maintain confidence under
stress.

This session will provide tips on how to organize budget books,
effectively track requisition and purchase orders during the paperwork process,
indispensable documentation practices, and ideas for electronic internal
tracking.

This session will be a demonstration of Crystal Reports 8.5
Professional capabilities to promote awareness about the product. The
demonstration will cover the basics of Crystal that include launching Crystal
Reports, overview of application window, connecting to the database, using the
Report Expert, advanced features (grouping, sorting, and sub-reports) and
manual formatting.
