DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision of the Senior Technical Support Analyst of the Deming Mimbres Valley Learning Center in Deming, NM. These two part-time, 20 hours per week (8 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.), positions will provide user support, general problem analysis and resolution, and technical assistance in the areas of computers, multimedia, telecommunications, and networking. Supports faculty, staff, and students at the Deming Mimbres Valley Learning Center and coordinates with counterparts at WNMU main campus, as well as, with proprietary technical support. Organizes and maintains documentation for computers, multimedia, telecommunications, networking and a library; such as inventory, warranties, work orders, purchase requests, manuals, software, user data, catalogs, repair records, etc…; responsible for support maintenance of hardware and equipment in the lab; ordering and stocking needed supplies; limiting access to authorized users; identifying and replacing component parts, forwards highly complex repair and/or replacements to appropriate vendors; remaining current with changes in specifications by reviewing technical publications and obtaining training; and providing user training. Assists faculty, staff and students in starting computer applications, creating and saving documents, printing documents, application specific support, e-mail, internet, programming, graphic design, scanning, file conversion, video production, etc…; installs, configures, and maintains computers, Windows workstations, software upgrades, preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair hardware, install hardware and software; clean and maintain printers; systems analysis and problem/error correction. Operates and maintains computers and peripherals including adding, removing, and upgrading software and hardware, cleaning parts and stocking expendables. Coordinates computer and software issues with the WNMU Information Technology Academic Computer Lab. Responsible for operations and maintaining networking system throughout the building and connecting computers, conferencing equipment, and peripherals to the network. Supports faculty and staff needs for telephones, fire alarm, and security systems. Coordinates networking issues and internet connectivity with WNMU Information Technology in the Chino Building and local service providers. Assists faculty, staff and students with on-line search, inter library loan, microfiche, reference books and other related duties as assigned. Assists faculty with multimedia and telecommunications equipment including classroom projectors, video equipment (cameras, monitors, VCR’s, microphones, etc); interactive tele-video conferencing; and teleconferencing. Coordinates multimedia support with WNMU’s Media Services; and performs other duties as assigned by management. Work hours will include but not limited to evenings and some weekends.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Technical certificate or specific coursework or training in computer software/hardware or other related field. Two – three years experience working with computers including software installation and hardware repairs with some supervisory experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A+ certification, proficiency in Spanish, and experience with diverse groups is preferred. Knowledgeable of Information Technology. Skilled in operating computer, multimedia, and telecommunication equipment. Ability to perform preventative maintenance on computer software and hardware, analyze and resolve computer problems; operate and maintain network system. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Word, Windows 2000, Excel, and Adobe Reader 6.0, Desktop publishing, and Internet/Email.

SALARY : $10.54 – $11.50 per hour – DOE
