                                               FACT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Under general supervision of the Professor of Theater, oversees, schedules and coordinates the execution of theatrical productions, concerts, recitals, and other events held in the WNMU Fine Arts Center Theatre.  Manages facility equipment, which may include staging equipment, sound and lighting equipment, and other related inventory.  Serves as on-site production representative during the staging, rehearsal and performance of events.  Facility Management for the Fine Arts Center Theatre and the Webb Blackbox –  Scheduling, paperwork, invoicing, purchase orders, equipment repair and maintenance, inventory in both theaters.  Review and approve all technical riders for events and work closely with community associations in the coordination of performances and matinee performances.  Work with university groups who use the facilities for concerts, workshops, and other events.  Train and oversee student work studies, student workers, intern students, practicum students, and volunteers for all events.  Supervision of the personnel and expenses involved in the manufacture, mounting, maintaining, running, and striking of all production elements of all Department of Theatre related productions.  Teach one general theater production class every semester.  Mentor students in the class to assist with productions and events.  Ensures adherence to established University and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.  Schedules space usage, controls key issuance and building security; prepares calendars and maintains records.  Conducts inventories, develops inventory control, and coordinates maintenance and repairs.  Recommends policy and procedure in direct relation to the F.A.C.T. and events held there.  Manages budget for the F.A.C.T., and provides billing information to departments and rental clients and performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  B.F.A. or B.A. /B.S. degree with two to five (2-5) years experience in theatre technology.  M.F.A. in technical theatre, proficiency in Spanish and professional experience with diverse groups preferred.

 

SALARY$31,755 - $33,000 DOQ
