RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the Dean of the School of Applied Technology direction, plans, develops, directs, and evaluates all Industry Certifications compliance for students and School of Applied Technology Instructors and assist in student advisement, state and federal reports. Provides advisement to new, current and returning students; assists student with course selection and schedule adjustments based on known Career Technical major. Facilitate communication among schools as well as between schools and Districts. Complete and submit timely and accurate state and federal reports. Maintain accurate and thorough Industry Certification compliance records. Keep up-to-date with federal and state mandates and requirements. Assist in the certification process for all Career Technical Instructors. Communicate effectively orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents, and community. Use a variety of communication techniques and tools to enhance collaboration and communication. Assist in identifying weaknesses and strengths in career/technology programs. Review and analyze data and information relative to assigned area. Assist in the planning coordination, and monitoring all Career Technical Education programs to ensure that they meet or exceed Local Education Agency , state, and National requirements. Attend regularly scheduled Department meeting and disseminate information to CTE teachers and administrators (as appropriate). Work with the WNMU Data Manager to ensure that data is reported timely and accurately. Assist in the preparation of an annual budget for the School of Applied Technology. Plan procedures for collection of data for required state and federal reports. Assist in the planning of supplemental career education programs. Assist in the development of cooperative agreements between public and private agencies for the provision of articulated educational services and community services. Use appropriate and positive interpersonal management skills and methods to guide individuals and groups to task accomplishment. Exercise proactive leadership in promoting the vision and mission of the School of Applied Technology. Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position. Coordinate audits of program compliance with local, state, and federal laws, rules and regulations. Assist in determining equipments needs in implementing new programs. Formalize program Industry certification competencies. Keep abreast of current research, trends, methods, and practices in community, career, and technical education; and perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree with five years experience in working with Career and Technical educational setting. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience with groups from diverse backgrounds and proficiency in Spanish.
SALARY: $32,000 Annually
