ADULT EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision of the Director for Adult Educational Services, performs a variety of functions and tasks to assist students prepare and take national and local educational testing. This full-time position p rovides secretarial and clerical duties in support of the Education Out-Reach and Student advisor & Leadership program. Enters data from forms, records and /or reports. Greets visitors and or students and determines the nature of their business. Maintains calendars and schedules appointments, meetings and conferences. Coordinates individual campus visits and assists with group tours as needed. Monitors use of and maintains supplies, equipment and/and or facilities for assigned program; assist with recruiting and marketing activates; assists other personnel in evaluation and preparation for participant’s enrollment; assists in the distribution of marketing materials; and assists with hosting annual career fairs for graduating students. Directs and supervises clerical interns and /or work-study students assigned to the program. Display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively with the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Demonstrate eagerness to learn and assume s responsibility; seeks out and accepts increased responsibility; displays a “can do” approach to work. Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; does things before being asked or forced to by events. Works when scheduled; begins and ends work as expected; calls in according to policy when arriving late for work or when absent; observes provisions of Fair Labor Standards Act; observes policies on break and lunch periods; uses work time appropriately; and performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : High School Diploma or GED equivalent and one year experience working with educational programs. Experience with groups from diverse backgrounds and proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

RATE OF PAY : $7.00 Per Hour – GRANT FUNDED
