ALLIED HEALTH DEPARTMENT SEEKS AN
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/ACADEMIC FIELDWORK COORDINATOR

Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position with a contract starting Spring 2010. Position responsibilities include advising, program development, assessment, university service, scholarly activity, community service and advisement of student organizations. During the interview candidates will make a thirty (30) minute class presentation on a topic selected by the search committee. Research, grant writing, experience on university, community, and professional committees and organizations, and previous online teaching experience are desired. Previous successful interaction with diverse groups and proficiency in Spanish are preferred for all positions.

Occupational Therapy Program in the Allied Health Department – Seeks an
Assistant Professor/Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for a 10-month contract, full time, tenure track position. Responsibilities include teaching clinical and theory classes in the new COTA to MOT bridge program and coordinating all fieldwork. Fieldwork coordinating duties include but are not limited to development of fieldwork sites, placing OT students, coordinating with site supervisors, monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records. Some travel and occasional weekends required. Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree in OT from an accredited program or if Master’s degree is from a related field then Bachelor’s degree must be in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program, demonstrated experience in OT practice and fieldwork supervision with 5 years of clinical or related experience, OTR certification, and eligibility for licensure in New Mexico. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate degree, experience in research, mentoring graduate students, and neuroscience teaching. Salary: $ 52,901 - $ 57,698
