Academic advising
is a program that helps students develop goals, so that they may have
a productive and rewarding college career. The counselors at
academic advising assist in appropriate class scheduling and career
planning assistance. There are Academic Skills Workshops that are
offered by Academic Advising throughout the semester, and Academic
Advising participates in all orientation workshops. Academic Advising
is also responsible for a very comprehensive Academic tracking system
that tracks students progress within the University.

Incoming students and students that
have not declared a major should meet with a professional advisor each
semester prior to registration for classes. Advisors help students to
develop goals, explore career options, and help students find the best
study techniques that will benefit them.
Academic Advisors/ Counselors are licensed
professionals that help students that are having trouble in their academic
lives. There are many issues that affect college students during the
school year, issues include: difficulty adjusting to college life, problems
dealing with stress and anxiety, time utilization and personal concerns
outside the college realm.
Academic Advisors/ Counselors also
offer a course called Academic and Life Skills, this course allows
students to discover the benefits to getting a college degree. This
course also teaches the various techniques of becoming a master student,
and it helps students strengthen personal goals and aspirations, and
the steps necessary to accomplish their college goals. The Academic
Advising team is ready to help and advise students, so come check
out what Academic Advising has to offer. If you don't have an advisor,
