Self-Help Tapes Available in Learning Resource Center

The Early Alert Project has recently acquired a variety of “self-help” audio programs for  students to use in the Learning Resource Center. You may recognize these popular names and/or program titles:

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Steven R. Covey, the “all-time best-selling audio program of its type”;

Evelyn Wood Reading Dynamics, the “most powerful weapon ever for reading faster, comprehending better, and remembering more”;

Self-Esteem and Peak Performance by Jack Canfield, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul, gives you skills to help you change the way you look at yourself and to reach your “personal best”;

The Psychology of Achievement by Brian Tracy, a program for helping you adjust your way of thinking and acting, toward setting and meeting your goals;

Don’t Sweat It!, Richard Carlson’s (author of Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff) “low-stress strategies for success”; and

The Fine Art of Small Talk by Debra Fine, teaches you how to “make every conversation an opportunity for success”.

Also, Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, a computer-based  typing program, is available on select LRC computers.

Anyone with a student I. D. may check out these programs, and listen to them in the LRC. A tape deck with earphones is available, for personal listening enjoyment! The LRC is open Monday through Thursday, 9 am - 8 pm; Friday, 9  am - 4:30 pm; and Sunday, 4 - 8 pm.
