It is the policy of Western New Mexico University to comply with all laws regulating intellectual property such as those that protect written works, software, and music. Such laws include copyright, trademark and licensing laws. For example, software may not be duplicated or installed except in strict accordance with applicable licensing agreements.

Unauthorized copying of software, including programs, applications, data bases and code, or copying of music is illegal and a violation of University policy. It is a violation of University policy for faculty, staff, or students to use University equipment, facilities, servers or networks to house, copy or distribute unauthorized software, music, video or other information content.
