CAMPUS POST OFFICE
DEPARTMENT USE POLICYEffective June 1st, 1999, the mailroom will no longer be delivering or picking up mail from the departments, with the exception of the Library due to the daily volume of mail, magazines, newspapers and packages.
The new Campus Post Office will be opened in the Old Student Memorial Building in what was the “Cooler”. Each department will pick up and drop off their mail at the Campus Post Office.
HOURS
The Campus Post Office lobby will be opened from 8:00 am to 9:00pm, Monday through Friday and 12:00pm to 4:00pm. on Saturday and closed on Sunday.
ASSIGNMENT OF CAMPUS POST OFFICE BOXES
We will assign a Post Office box and issue two [2] keys to each department. The chairperson/director of the department will have to sign for these keys. They can determine who will pickup and drop off mail to the Campus Post Office.
LOST KEYS
Please notify the Purchasing Office ASAP if the key[s] are lost. To uphold security, we will change out the lock as soon as we are notified. If a department looses their key [s], there will be a charge of $25.00. The Business Office will journal entry funds from the departments supplies and expense budget to the mailroom upon written notification from the mailroom. The Purchasing Office will issue new keys, which will be signed for again. The $25.00 charge will be used to cover the cost of keys, lock, labor to stamp the keys and install new lock.
INCOMING MAIL
The mailroom personnel will pick up the mail daily at the city Post Office. We will have the daily mail sorted and delivered to the appropriate boxes no later than 11:00am each business day. Please insure that department names are on incoming mail. This will be a big help for the mailroom. Please notify the Purchasing Office or Mailroom of any changes in the department’s personnel so appropriate delivery occurs.
OUTGOING MAIL
In the Campus Post Office there are two other mail slots which are labeled “In-State”, and “Out-of-State”. Please drop off mail in the appropriate slots. All outgoing mail must be delivered to the Campus Post Office no later than 2:00pm so that it can be sorted, processed and delivered to the city Post Office by 4:00pm. All out going mail delivered to the Campus Post Office after 2:00pm will be sorted, processed and delivered to the city Post Office the next working day by 4:00pm.
CAMPUS MAIL
In the lobby of the Campus Post Office there is one mail slot marked “Campus”. All campus mail should be inserted in this slot. Campus mail dropped off by 2:00pm will be sorted and routed to the appropriate department’s box no later than 3:00pm the same day. Any mail delivered after the 2:00pm time will be sorted and routed to the campus boxes the next working day by 11:00am.
