Annual Student Art Exhibition & Graduating Senior Exhibition: 3 Different Girls, 3 Different States of Mind
The community is invited to attend “Annual Student Art Exhibition and Graduating Senior Exhibition: 3 Different Girls, 3 Different States of Mind ” at the WNMU Francis McCray Gallery April 21 – August 25, 2006.

Open weekdays 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  After May 5, call 538-6614 for gallery hours.  The opening reception begins at 4:30 pm on Friday, April 21.  BFA student, Tasha Cooper, will present a lecture discussing her work after juried awards at 5:00 pm in McCray building room 118.

Art Scholarship recipients will be recognized following the BFA lecture.

This exhibition will feature the artwork of Tasha Cooper, B.F.A., Kristin Wilson, B.S. and Sara Billings, B.A.

Billings: Art to me is my expression of who I am, where I come from and what I’ve been through. Photography is about capturing a moment in time- pausing life in such a way that everything seems to be in complete order or utter disorder. That which makes photography a form of art is that it has the ability to tell a story, insight curiosity, or provoke emotion.

Cooper:  Tasha Cooper uses the world around her as influence and inspiration. What she sees in everyday life becomes a little piece of her and in turn becomes a little piece of her artwork.  This philosophy is present in both her weaving and digital paintings.

WilsonI use photography as a tool to bring out the essence of the subject and to portray it in such a manner that some might overlook.
