2014/2015 Room Rates*

WNMU residence halls and food services are operated on a self-supporting basis. Published rates are therefore subject to change from one academic year to another when necessary to meet operating costs.

The duration of the contractual lease agreement is for the full academic year commencing with the fall semester and ending at the termination of the spring semester. Separate applications must be made, and new contracts signed, for a new academic year and for the summer sessions.

Payment

The application fee must accompany the housing application. Rental charges are due and payable at the Business Office in conjunction with other charges (i.e., tuition, fees, meal plan, etc.). Payments may be deferred according to a prearranged schedule through the Business Office.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:

All freshmen (first time in college students) and students with less than 32 semester credit hours residing outside of the tri-county area (Grant, Luna, or Hidalgo counties in New Mexico) are required to live in University owned and operated residential facilities.

  1. Exceptions are made for students residing with their parent or legal guardian; the parent’s or legal guardian’s permanent address must be within the tri-county area prior to freshman move-in date.
  2. Other exceptions are students who are at least 21 years of age by the first day of class; students who are married; and students providing support to dependents. Failure to comply with this rule is a violation of University policy and will result in a hold being placed on the Student’s account

To request an exemption from this rule, please complete the Request for
Exemption from Housing Residency Requirement form.
