Current WNMU students interested in applying for the 2014 Summer
Orientation Leader (OL) position are invited to fill out the Office of the
First Year Experience OL Application.
An application
link will appear here on January 31, 2014.
The deadline for
applications is February 24, 2014.
Helpful Tips and
Updates
- Before filling
out the application, thoroughly read the attached job description.
- Returner OL
candidates are encouraged to apply.
- At the end of
the application you will be asked to attach documents (such as your
resume). Save these documents on your computer just in case!

Successful
Application Requirements
- Complete
application by February 24, 2014.
- Obtain two (2)
letters of recommendation from a faculty or staff member.
- Acceptable
academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, maintained
throughout the summer orientation program.
- Good judicial
standing throughout the spring 2014 semester.
- Full time
enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student for the spring 2014 and
fall 2014 semesters.
- Not
participating in a study away program during the fall 2014 semester.
- Capacity to
work effectively with a diverse group of team members, first-year
students, and family members.
- Demonstrated
record of flexibility, responsibility, sound judgment in decision-making,
and a willingness to assist others.
- In addition to
Summer Orientations, must commit to 33
hours per month for this position; this will include evenings and
weekends.
- Orientation
Leaders must be present at all summer orientation sessions as well as the
entire Orientation Leader training.
- Class excuses,
once in a lifetime, are approved absences.
