GRANT COUNTY
Grant County
is home to many vibrant communities found alongside the Gila National Forest.
The county’s 150-year history includes important ties to mining, agriculture,
and ranching.
Grant County’s
largest city is also one of New Mexico’s most interesting. Once a small
western town, Silver City now supports a state university, a regional medical
center, and four historic districts. Silver City was named recently as one
of the top 100 places to live.
Annual events
that attract thousands of tourists are found in Grant County including the
Blues Festival and Tour of the Gila.
Grant County is comfortably centered within short traveling distance
to cities with wide business and international trade opportunities. Easy access
to many metropolitan areas include El Paso, Albuquerque, Las Cruces, and
Tucson.
Much historical
significance can be made of the county’s landmarks including Fort Bayard,
Pinos Altos, and Silver City. Known for its comfortable year-round weather,
Grant County is visited throughout the year by tourists from across the world.
Both a college
town and a retirement community, the area is benefited by a diverse population
and strong workforce.
