City Of Rocks

Giant boulders were formed from volcanic stone over a million years ago, and along with the geologic process of erosion, a quiet retreat and a source of unending interest to both adults and children was formed. This park is called "City of Rocks" because of its likeness of a city with streets and buildings. The park features developed picnicking and camping spots nestled among the rocks. Located 34 miles south of Silver City on US HWY 180.
