Cliff Dwellings
In the heart of the three million acre Gila National Forest prehistoric Mogollon Indians built 42 rooms in 5 natural caves located in large, picturesque sandstone bluffs. A maintained trail takes the visitor the short distance to the well-preserved dwellings. A sence of the past is strong as one imagines how life must have been in this beautiful area 700 years ago. Located about 44 miles north of Silver City on NM15.
