Offering over 70 fields of study at the Certificate, Associate, Bachelor's and Master's Degree levels, Western gives you the freedom of choice found at most large universities in a small university setting.
The faculty members at Western excel in their fields, with over 75% holding a Doctorate or Terminal Degree. Because the faculty are dedicated educators and because of the student/faculty ratio, you as a student will receive their undivided attention. It is a policy not to allow graduate students to teach classes, thus giving you a quality education by qualified instructors. The facilities at Western are exceptional. Miller Library, located in the heart of the campus, carries over 120,000 books, 950 periodical titles and over 500,000 microform titles. A $6.4 million expansion was completed in 1997, which doubled the size of the library and media center. Other historic buildings on campus also have been renovated to meet the needs of the 21st century.
The computer needs of WNMU are met by a variety of technologies. Western has well-equipped computer labs with over 250 micro-computers, various advanced peripherals and 5 powerful Sun/OS UNIX workstations. The Learning Resource Center and Miller Library also contain additional microcomputers for student use.
Student support services include tutoring, the Peer/Mentor Program, the Learning Resource Center, Career Services, and Counseling Advisement. The faculty and staff at Western will always be there when you need them!
