John Gist holds an M.F.A. in Writing from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He is the former Director of the Professional Writing Program at Western Carolina University and has taught classes ranging from Creative Writing to Professional Publishing and Editing. A fan of backpacking, German philosophy, Eastern mysticism and the martial arts, he is finishing up his third novel.
