Purpose |
| |
|
| |
Our purpose is to help you improve your writing skills. We can work with you on a specific paper, or we can communicate with you about composition, rhetoric and grammar in general.

Procedures |
| |
|
| |
1. |
If we work with you on an assignment: |
| |
|
Please plan to contact us at least a week before your assignment is due. Tutors can help you with prewriting and organizing as well as with grammar and spelling. If you submit too late, we probably will be able to give you little or no help. |
| |
|
|
| |
2. |
What we will do, and what we will not do: |
| |
|
We will communicate with your instructor. With your permission, after we have worked with you, we will send your instructor an email telling him/her what we worked on.
If your instructor has questions or comments, she or he may email us back.
We will not revise your paper for you. We help you learn to fix your paper for yourself. We do this by pointing out types of errors and problems and showing you how to fix a small sample of them. It is your job to go through your writing and correct the rest. |

Quick questions: |
| |
|
If you have a quick question related to writing, you can contact us.
Your question will be answered in the order in which it was received. Understand that not all short questions are quick questions. "What is a sentence fragment?" is a quick question. "How can I keep from making sentence fragments" is not.
