Bucklandiella subsecunda (Hook. & Grev. ex Harv.) Bedn.-Ochyra & Ochyra

Family: Grimmiaceae

Status: Native

Synonyms:
Trichostomum subsecundum Hook. & Grev. ex Harv.
Grimmia subsecunda (Hook. & Grev. ex Harv.) Mitt.
Racomitrium subsecundum (Hook. & Grev. ex Harv.) Mitt. & Wilson

Bucklandiella subsecunda has stems up to 8cm long with branch tips that are falcate secund. The laminal cells are smooth on cross section, although they certainly look papillose the way the cells appear wavy and bumpy en face. There is a long but smooth hairpoint.

Many thanks to the University of Colorado Herbarium (COLO), Erin Tripp & Dina Clark for permitting us to photograph this specimen.
