Ceratophyllaceae
(Hornwort Family)

Ceratophyllaceae are aquatic plants with roots in the mud. The leaves are whorled and finely dissected. The flowers are inconspicuous and the fruit is a beaked achene. Now formally thought to represent a lineage distinct from the Eudicots, this family is placed here for convenience.
