Synonyms:
Juncus arcticus Willdenow var. balticus (Willdenow) Trautvetter

Juncus balticus is found in upper elevation moist meadows. The bract of the inflorescence extends beyond the inflorescence like a continuation of the stem, which is terete. The perianth is purplish, with a greenish stripe along the midrib.
