Phlox woodhousei is a perennial pink phlox with variable purple
and white markings on the corolla lobes. The lobes are always notched. The herbage
is glandular pubescent near the inflorescence. The corolla tube is about twice as long
as the calyx. Phlox woodhousei is found in the Ponderosa Pine forest
in open areas in full sunlight in the western part of the Gila National Forest.
