Physcia biziana (Linnaeus) Nyl.
Frosted Rosette Lichen
Physcia biziana is a small gray or whitish lichen that grows on bark, twigs and sometimes on rock.
It is covered in pruina, a powdery or frosty coating of crystals that can even be seen on the dark brown
apothecia. There are no isidia or soredia. The undersurface is white as are the rhizines. The medulla
is KOH negative.
