Sonchus asper (Linnaeus) Hill
(Sow Thistle, Spiny Leaf Sow Thistle)

Synonyms:
None

Sonchus asper is frequently found growing up against buildings in town and in disturbed areas. It has only yellow ray flowers (ligulate) and very prickly foliage, The auricle, that part of the leaf that wraps around the stem, is rounded (in comparison to Sonchus oleraceus.)
