DESCRIPTION:Join us on Monday\, March 23\, from 2-3:30 PM at the WNMU Museu
 m for a powerful exhibit showcasing compassion for migrants from Mexico an
 d Central America who died in the Southern Arizona deserts on their way to
  create better lives for themselves and their families. Each quilt symboli
 zes a specific fiscal year\, featuring the names of those who have lost th
 eir lives in search of a better future.\n\nThis grassroots initiative is a
  heartfelt tribute to those who have faced unimaginable risks. Let’s com
 e together to be in community and reflect on their stories and advocate fo
 r humane border policies.\n\nSpecial presentations by students from Profes
 sor Heather Frankland’s Composition 1120 and Mariachi Students will also
  take place. Dr. Sonia Arellano\, Director of the Migrant Quilt Project wi
 ll address the university and will be in attendance.\n\nIn partnership wit
 h the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanxode Aztlán (M.E.Ch.A ) student organi
 zation\, our local League of United Latin American Citizens Council (LULAC
 ) 8003\, WNMU Humanities and Writing Center\, WNMU Museum and the Arizona 
 Historical Society.
